INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA – JUNE 2015

Minister of Health Sibongile Simelane and Minister of Home Affairs Princess Tsandzile are today expected to join Honorary Consul General of India to Swaziland, Mrs. Mona Ashraff in celebrating International Day of Yoga.
The event, which has been endorsed by the government of India, will be held at the Royal villas from 9am until noon. An instructor in leading the five types of Yoga to be done as part of the event.
Adding, The Honorary Consul General explained that “Yoga is not a religion as some may perceive, but a lifestyle; for there will be less travelling to South Africa for local cancer patients as the Ministry of Health and social welfare will be offering chemotherapy before the end of the year”
The Prime Minister of Swaziland, Dr. Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini hopes the world will someday embrace Swaziland’s cultural practices and benefits from these just as Swazis do. He added that “yoga is a spiritual discipline; nothing embraces such principle like the spiritual discipline of Yoga. As a country and government, we in Swaziland embrace the spirit of yoga and the impact it can have on a healthy society”.
