Ms. Radha Venkataraman joined the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in 1982. She has served under different capacities in  Belgrade, Bonn, Minsk, Lisbon, Thimphu, Kandy and New Delhi and has handled various aspects of diplomatic work covering Administration, Publicity, Human Resource capacity training, Parliament & Coordination, Consular and public relations. 

She was the first lady Liaison Officer to HH the Dalai Lama and served in Dharamshala from 2008 to 2010.  She served as Head of Chancery in the Embassy of India, Thimphu from December 2011 to November 2014 and was the Assistant High Commissioner of India at Kandy (Sri Lanka) from December 2014 to December 2017.

Ms. Radha Venkataraman, born in 1962, is single and has a Master’s degree in Sociology.  She has a Diploma in Russian and limited knowledge of Serbo-Croatian, German and Portuguese languages besides being fluent in English, Hindi and Tamil.

she has assumed charge as High Commissioner of India to the Kingdom of Eswatini on 13th Aug 2019.
