As part of the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), an India@75 T20 Cricket Tournament is being sponsored by the High Commission of India, Mbabane in collaboration with the Eswatini Cricket Association (ECA) for the last 10 weeks, culminating on 10 April 2022. The Tournament was launched by H.E. Ms. Radha Venkataraman, High Commissioner of India on 06 February 2022 at the Malkerns Sports & Country Club.

Matches of the India@75 T20 Cricket Tournament were played at two venues in Eswatini i.e. at the Malkerns Sports & Country Club and Enjabulweni High School. In all, 12 teams from across the Kingdom of Eswatini have participated. On the basis of better run rate, four teams have reached the knockout stage. They competed in semifinals and the final match was played on 24 April 2022. High Commissioner gave away the trophies for the winner and runner up teams.

High Commission of India conveys its appreciation for the cooperation and efforts put up by the leadership of ECA, more particularly of its President Rueben ‘Rhoo’ Nxumalo, Development Officer Zenzele Mazibuko, Secretary General Musa Tfwala and Operations Manager Mandla Dlamini. High Commission of India also conveys its gratitude to Mr. Sandeep Narayan, a Diaspora Member, without whose efforts and hard work, the High Commission would not have been able to play a role in the Tournament success. The High Commission also appreciates the kind gesture of the Malkerns Sports & Country Club and the Enjabulweni High School for allowing their grounds for the smooth conduct of Tournament Matches.

To chronicle development of Cricket in Eswatini, the High Commission has brought out two booklets which can be accessed through our website www.hcimbabane.gov.in
