High Commission of India celebrated the 76th Independence Day on 15 August 2022. In the morning, Ms. Susan Joseph, Charge d’Affairea a.i., hoisted the National Flag. She read out the speech of Hon’ble President of India. She also spoke about various achievements of the High Commission of India in the Kingdom of Eswatini during the last one year. This was followed by a cultural programme, where diaspora children presented a dance duet and a song. An in-house video of the High Commission was screened on the occasion. As part of #HarGharTiranga campaign, High Commission led the diaspora community by decorating all the rooms of the High Commission with tricolor. A vigorous social media campaign has been conducted during 13-15 August 2022 and images received from diaspora community were shared and engaged through various social media platforms. Charge d’Affaires a.i. distributed Indian flags to the diaspora who participated in the flag hoisting ceremony and the event was replete with the tricolor.

Charge d’Affaires a.i. hosted a Reception in the evening in the UN House, within which the Chancery is also located. His Royal Highness Prince Mguciso represented His Majesty King Mswati-III. Rt. Hon’ble Prime Minister Cleopas Sipho Dlamini, Finance Minister Neal Rijkenberg, Public Service Minister Mabulala Maseko, Sports, Culture & Youth Affairs Minister Harries Madze Bulunga, senior officials from various ministries of the Government, members of the Diplomatic corps and Indian diaspora attended the Reception.

As part of #AmritMahotsav, on 12 August 2022, Charge d’Affaires a.i. donated books to the Woodlands High School, Mbabane to help them establish a mini-India Corner in the School. With this donation, High Commission of India has so far helped establish following India Corners so far:
